#SustainableCurator

Musosoup started the #SustainableCurator movement in 2021, to help make grassroots music journalism sustainable which, in turn, helps to make the creation of new music sustainable, too.

What is #SustainableCurator?

What is #SustainableCurator?

When you see this hashtag, it means that the curator behind the coverage has received an optional small financial donation from the artist featured in the coverage. This is not payola*. It did not sway the judgement of the curator, and the artist could have received coverage for free if they’d wished.

*Payola is defined as a lump sum or bribe paid by an artist to secure radio play or other forms of promotion. This is paid directly in exchange for the coverage, and without that exchange of money, no form of coverage would have been given. Musosoup does not support payola and it has no place in the ethical promotion of music.

The transparent movement for sustainable music curators

Fire Orange Duotone

Our Mission

Musosoup launched this movement in 2021 to make grassroots music journalism sustainable—because when independent media thrives, so does the creation of new music.

Power Orange Duotone

Fairness at the Core

We built Musosoup on a simple idea: curators deserve to earn a living from music journalism, and artists deserve fair, affordable access to music press and PR.

Stacked Blocks Orange Duotone

Transparency and Integrity

Musosoup offers artists free coverage options, ensuring payments don't influence curators, who only approach artists they genuinely like.

Musosoup isn’t just another music submission and curation platform; it’s a self-supporting, sustainable ecosystem designed to allow new music to flourish

Welcome to a more affordable era of music PR

Affordable Campaigns with Global Reach

With Musosoup, Instead of an artist’s payment going to a PR agent (which could be anything from £500 – £5,000+), they instead pay a £36 campaign fee to get their submission in front of hundreds of our curators from around the world. This fee is used to maintain, improve and grow the Musosoup platform.
